Mirrors seem to get dirty very often in our homes.

Whether they are stained with water or our fingerprints. They usually look bad when they aren’t cleaned very often.

But don’t worry I will show you some incredible ways to clean your mirrors.

These tips will show you how to clean your stained/dirty mirrors without leaving any streaks.

HOW TO CLEAN MIRRORS

There are a lot of ways you can clean your mirrors but only a few of them is actually effective. One of the most effective ways to clean your mirrors is to use vinegar.

Now I’ve talked about vinegar a lot in some of my other articles but this is because it is very good at cleaning. You can use it to clean floors, countertops, and now mirrors.

To clean your mirrors with  vinegar you are going to need the following:

  • Spray bottle
  • 1 cup of vinegar
  • 2-3 cups of warm water

Mix the vinegar and warm water into the spray bottle and shake it. Now spray the mixture onto the mirror and use a paper towel or a microfiber cloth to clean it. The reason why you need to use a microfiber cloth or a  paper towel is that they don’t leave streaks on the surface you are cleaning. Sometimes ordinary cleaning cloth leaves behind thread residue on the surface that is being cleaned and it can be frustrating to deal with.

After doing this your mirror will be looking way cleaner than before. This will also clean a mirror that is hazy.

There are many other ways to clean your mirrors without vinegar and here is another way:

How to clean mirrors with rubbing alcohol

Cleaning your mirrors with rubbing alcohol is basically cleaning it with Windex except that it costs way less to do so. To clean your mirror with rubbing alcohol all you need to do is attach a spray nozzle to the bottle of rubbing alcohol and use it to spray the mirror. After spraying the mirror it’s best to use a microfiber cloth to wipe.

To get a more effective clean you can also add 1/2 cup of vinegar, 2 cups of rubbing alcohol, 2 cups of warm water into a spray bottle, and then use this mixture to clean your mirrors.

Remember when you are cleaning your mirrors you should make sure there isn’t a lot of moisture left on them as this may cause them to have watermarks and streaks.

To prevent your mirrors from becoming too dirty, just keep a paper towel and rubbing alcohol nearby so that in case of water splashes onto the mirror you can just clean it on the go.

What I mentioned above was the best way to clean your mirrors with rubbing alcohol.

HOW TO CLEAN MIRRORS THAT ARE STAINED

Cleaning stained mirrors isn’t really the same as cleaning an ordinary dirty mirror. Stains can form on a mirror in different ways such as fingerprints, water that hasn’t been cleaned from the mirror, black spots, etc.

To clean your stained mirror, all you have to do is mix 1 cup of vinegar, 2 cups of rubbing alcohol, and 1 cup of warm water into a spray bottle and spray it on the stained areas of your mirror (this is probably the best DIY mirror cleaner spray). After spraying the mirror use a clean microfiber cloth to wipe the stained areas on it.

Is there a way to clean mirrors without leaving streaks?

A lot of people seem to have a problem when they clean their mirrors and the problem is streaks. This usually happens when you use a dirty cloth to clean a surface.

The answer is yes, the best way to clean mirrors without leaving streaks is to use a microfiber cloth and the right cleaning product. If you just use water to clean any glass surface it’s going to smear the glass. So I would recommend that you use the things I mentioned throughout this article, such as vinegar, rubbing alcohol, or your ordinary glass cleaner.

Another thing you should do is always make sure you wipe the mirror properly. Don’t leave too much moisture on the mirror after cleaning it. This will cause water stains.

I hope this article showed you some incredible methods you can use to clean your mirrors.

You can even mix vinegar with other things such as rubbing alcohol, baking soda, dish soap, etc. I will even show you how to make your own homemade floor cleaner for mopping.

Now I will show you how to clean your really dirty floors with vinegar.

How much vinegar should you use to clean your floors WIth?

If you want to know how much vinegar you want to use to clean your floors with. Just think about the areas of the floor, and what type of floors you are going to clean.

If you are going to clean tile floors it’s best to use around 1-2 cups of distilled vinegar. But if you are going to clean wood floors I would only recommend around 1/2 cup of vinegar.

Also, be sure to check what type of flooring you have and do quick research to see if you can even use vinegar on it at all.

HOW TO CLEAN DIRTY FLOORS WITH VINEGAR

When cleaning your floors with vinegar the first thing you want to do is to get a small dish or bucket filled halfway up with water. Then add around 2-3 cups of vinegar into the bucket or bowl.

Then dip a small cleaning cloth into it and use it to clean your floors. After cleaning the floors get another bucket filled with water and dip a mop into it. Then use the mop to give the floors a good wipe. After doing this your floors will look very clean.

Now there are many other ways to clean floors with vinegar. And one of these ways is to mix it with baking soda.

Cleaning floors with vinegar and baking soda is easy just mix around 2- 3 cups of vinegar and 3 cups of baking soda together and it will create one of the best cleaning solutions.

You can use this floor cleaner recipe for not only cleaning your floors but also use it to clean away stains from them.

Mix together 2 cups of vinegar and 2 cups of baking soda and 3 squirts of dawn dish soap into a bowl or dish that’s filled halfway up with water( this will create the perfect floor cleaner) and dip a cleaning sponge into the mixture.

After that use the sponge to clean everywhere on the floor.

Then use a broom or vacuum to get rid of all the baking soda residue that was on the floor. After vacuuming/sweeping use a damp mop to wipe up the floors (before you wipe the floor make sure to pour 2-3 cork full of fabuloso disinfectant onto the floor.).

Doing this will make your floors look marvelous.

If you want to know some incredible fabuloso cleaning tips you can check it out right here “6 fabuloso cleaning tips and tricks

It’s best to use this method to clean tile floors.

Warning- make sure that you can use this mixture on your floors before you try cleaning it.

How to clean laminate floor with vinegar

Cleaning laminate floors with vinegar is quite simple. All you have to do is mix together 2 cups of vinegar with 1 gallon of warm water (not hot). and dip a cloth or mop into the mixture and use it to mop your laminate floors until it looks very clean. After doing that, just use another mop ( a dry one) or a dry cloth/cleaning towel and use it to wipe off the floor. This will make your laminate flooring look nice and shine. This is also one of the best ways to remove build-up on laminate floors.

How to clean a tile floor with vinegar

There are many different ways to clean a tile floor with vinegar. Vinegar doesn’t just clean tiled floors but it also shines them as well. Mixing vinegar with other things like baking soda, rubbing alcohol, etc creates the best homemade tile floor cleaner.

To clean your tile floor with vinegar all you have to do is mix 1 cup of vinegar and 2 cups of disinfectant (fabuloso) with 1 gallon of water. Now dip a mop into the water and use it to clean your floor. It’s best to use a micro giber mop as a normal mop leaves behind a lot of residue.

Will vinegar damage ceramic tile?

The answer to this is no. Cleaning ceramic tile floors with vinegar will not damage it, that’s if you are using the right amount. If you are going to clean your ceramic tile floors with vinegar I would recommend that you only use a small amount of vinegar.

The best way to clean ceramic tile floors with vinegar without damaging them is to get a bucket filled with 1 gallon of water and mix it with 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1 squirt of dawn dish soap. After you mix them together dip a microfiber mop into the bucket of water and use it to clean the floors. Make sure the mop isn’t too wet. When you are finished with mopping the floors get a clean dry cloth or mop and use it to dry up the floor. The reason why you want to do that is that you don’t want to make sure that your floor isn’t too wet and when there’s a lot of water on your tile floors it can leave watermarks.

I hope this article helped and showed you the best ways on how to clean the floor of your house with vinegar.

so, Where can mold Grow?

Leather mold can grow on areas such as the leather inside a car, on leather work gloves, leather jackets, etc.

Now you might be asking a couple of things such as “is mold dangerous? can you prevent mold from growing on other areas/things? or what causes mold on leather?” Well, don’t worry I will answer those questions.

Mold isn’t nearly dangerous as it won’t kill you but it can cause allergy problems, skin and eye irritations, etc. So it’s still not good to live in a moldy home.

If you want to prevent mold from growing in your home just keep the humidity level in your house down somewhere between 30% to 50%. Also, be sure to dry up any damp/wet areas in your home as leaving them wet/damp for too long can cause mold to grow in that area.

So it’s best to keep your leather materials dry and clean so that mold won’t grow on them.

Now, what causes mold on leather? Well, mold is usually formed in water and other moist areas. There is a lot of different types of mold but all of them only form when they are exposed to moisture.

This article will show you the best ways to clean leather mold.

HOW TO CLEAN LEATHER MOLD

1. How to Clean Mold Off a Leather Bag

Start by taking the leather bag outside and gently wiping off any loose mold with a dry microfiber cloth.

Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm water, dampen a soft cloth, and wipe the molded areas using light circular motions—never soak the leather.

Next, mix equal parts rubbing alcohol and water, lightly dampen a clean cloth, and wipe the affected spots again to kill remaining mold spores.

Let the bag air-dry completely in a shaded area. Once dry, buff with a clean cloth and apply a small amount of leather conditioner to restore softness and prevent future mold growth.

2. How to Clean Mold off a Leather Couch

Vacuum the couch using a soft brush attachment to remove surface mold, paying close attention to seams and creases.

Mix warm water with a few drops of dish soap and lightly wipe the molded areas using a damp cloth—avoid over-wetting, as leather couches hold moisture longer.

Follow up by wiping the area with a cloth dampened in a 50/50 rubbing alcohol and water solution to disinfect and stop mold from returning.

Allow the couch to air-dry naturally with good airflow. Once fully dry, apply leather conditioner to keep the leather flexible and crack-free.

3. How to Clean Mold off Leather Car Seats: (Car-Specific Tips Included)

Allow the gloves to air-dry naturally, reshaping them as they dry. Once dry, condition lightly to restore flexibility.

Lastly, condition the leather by polishing with a leather conditioner.

Surprisingly Odd Ways to Clean Leather Car Seats

Don’t you hate when your painting brushes dry up and harden? This makes them harder to clean. But don’t worry. In this article, I will show you the best ways to clean your oil painting brushes.

HOW DO YOU  CLEAN OIL PAINTING BRUSHES?

I am going to show you how to clean your oil paint brushes at home. Usually, when you don’t clean oil paint brushes they get hard. When this happens they became difficult to clean and paint with. An incredible way to clean oil paint brushes is to use paint thinner. You can get a bottle of paint thinner at your local store such as Walmart.

A paint thinner is a solvent used to thin oil-based paints or clean up after their use. Commercially, solvents labeled “paint thinner” are usually mineral spirits having a flashpoint at about 40 °C, the same as some popular brands of charcoal starters.-Wikipedia

Get a small container filled halfway up with the paint thinner then dip the paintbrush into it, then swish it around for 30 secs in the paint thinner. Then after that get a paint comb and comb through the brush. After that swish the paintbrush into a different container filled with paint thinner for 30 seconds again. Now get a different small container filled with warm water and squeeze a few drops of dish soap into it. Then swish the oil paintbrush into the water. After doing that just let the paintbrush dry.

What I mentioned above is the best way to clean oil painting brushes with a paint thinner. Now I am going to show you some ways you can clean oil paint off brushes without a paint thinner.

Cleaning oil paintbrushes doesn’t only require a paint thinner, you can also use vinegar and vegetable oil. You can even clean them with linseed oil as well.

WHAT TO CLEAN OIL PAINT BRUSHES WITH?

There are several products you can use to clean oil paint brushes with and I will show you how to clean your paintbrushes with each of these products. These products are vegetable oil, vinegar, water, paint thinner & mineral spirits

Cleaning oil paint brushes with vegetable oil

You might be wondering “how can you possibly clean oil paint brushes with vegetable oil?” Well, you’ll be surprised.

What you need to do is dip the oil painting brush into a small container of vegetable oil and use your finger or a paint comb to separate the brush bristles. After doing this dip the brush into a small container filled with warm water and swish the brush in it until the paintbrush isn’t oily anymore. Then hang your paintbrush to dry.

After doing that the dry paint that was on your paintbrush should be gone and now your paintbrush can be used for painting again.

Cleaning oil paint brushes with vinegar

Get a small container and fill it halfway up with vinegar. Then soak the oil painting brush inside the vinegar for an hour. After that just comb out the bristles with a paint comb, doing that just hang the paintbrush so it can dry. Doing this will definitely get rid of the dried paint from your paintbrushes.

Can you clean oil paint brushes with just water?

Well not really you can’t really clean them with just water. You need to clean them with other things like I mentioned above. And what I am about to mention soon.

How to clean oil paint brushes with mineral spirits

Cleaning oil paint brushes with mineral spirits is something that has been a lot of times. Most people think that a paint thinner is the best way to remove oil-based paint from paintbrushes but that is not true. Mineral spirits are as or more effective than using a paint thinner. So I am going to tell you how to clean your oil paint brushes with mineral spirits. The best way to clean oil paint brushes with mineral spirits is to get a small container and fill it up with mineral spirits then swish the oil paintbrush in it and let it sit in the container for about 7 -10 minutes. After that just hang the brush, or place it on a dry cloth so it can dry.

HOW TO CLEAN OIL-BASED PAINT OFF BRUSHES

Throughout this article, I showed you ways on how to clean your oil painting brushes, but now I will show you how to remove oil-based paint from your paintbrushes.  Most of the things I mentioned above were how to just remove dried-up paint from your paintbrushes but now I will show you how to remove oil-based paint from a paintbrush you just used. Removing oil-based paint off your paintbrushes is kind of similar to just cleaning them. All you have to do is get a bottle of paint thinner or mineral spirits and pour it into a small container, then place the paintbrush in the container. Then swish it around for 1 minute. After that just get a separate container filled with water, and swish the paintbrush inside the water for around 35 secs. Now use a paint comb and run it through the bristles of the paintbrush, then place the brush inside another container filled with paint thinner or mineral spirits. After doing all of that you should let the brush dry by placing it on a large cloth or by hanging it.

Pots are always prone to get burnt. This is because most people cook a lot. So if the inside/outside of your pot is burnt terribly. Don’t worry because today I will show you how to clean a burnt pot.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN A BURNT POT?

Cleaning a burnt pot can be difficult if you don’t know what to do. There are several ways in which you can clean a burnt pot.

The first way is to use baking soda and vinegar

How to clean a burnt pot with vinegar and baking soda?

To properly clean the pot you need to soak inside the pot with 2 cups of vinegar and 5tbsp of baking soda. When you mix the vinegar and baking soda together the mixture starts to bubble up, then add 3 cups of hot water into the burnt pot. Let the mixture sit inside for a couple of hours. After that use steel wool to scrub inside of the pot. This will make your pot look great again.

If you want to know some more amazing vinegar and baking soda  hacks and uses you can check out these two articles “10 unbelievable baking soda household cleaning hacks” and “8 amazing vinegar cleaning hacks/uses

If the outside of the pot is burnt just mix the vinegar and baking soda together into a dish then dip steel wool into it and use it to clean the burnt area on the pot.

If you don’t want to use any vinegar or baking soda there is no need to worry because I will show you how to clean the burnt pot/pan without baking soda and vinegar.

How to clean a burnt pot/pan without baking soda and vinegar?

Who said you only need vinegar and baking soda to clean your burnt pots?. You can clean your pot with just dish soap. All you need to do is fill inside of the pot with hot water and squeeze a few drops of dish soap into it (make sure the water is really soapy). Let the pot sit for a couple of hours then after that just use steel wool to scrub inside of the pot. Doing this will definitely make your pot/pan look brand new.

How to clean a burnt pan/pot with salt?

This may sound unusual but trust me it works. So the first thing you want to do is fill the pot or pan with water then add 4 tbsp of regular salt in it, then mix around. Now place the pot/pan onto the stove and let the water boil for around 12 minutes. After that pour out most of the water and leave about an inch of it in the pan/pot. Then add some more salt into the pot and use steel wool or a sponge to scrub inside of the pot/pan (before you do this be sure you are wearing a dish glove). Now rinse the pot and it should be looking way better than before.

HOW DO YOU GET BURNT FOOD OFF THE POT?

Getting rid of burnt food from a pot is not as difficult as you might think.  Well, it depends on the type of food and how badly it was burnt. Something that was liquid will not be that hard to clean but if it was solid or grainy well it might be just a little bit harder to clean. To get rid of burnt foods from pots all you need to do is soak the pot in 3 cups of vinegar  3 cups of warm water and let it soak for several hours. After that just use a scrubbing sponge to scrub the pot.

That was the best way to get rid of most brunt foods in a pot. But they are two main foods that are a nightmare to clean when they are burnt. These are rice and sugar. But don’t worry I will show you how to get rid of both of them.

How do you get burnt rice off the pot?

This is really easy just soak inside the pot with warm water and 2 cups of vinegar for a couple of hours. Then scrub inside the pot with the scotch Brite. This will get rid of all the burnt rice that was in the pot. If the scotch Brite isn’t doing a good job, just use steel wool instead.

How to clean burnt sugar from stainless steel pot with coke?

Yes I know this sounds even weirder than the previous tip but it works well. All you need to do is fill inside the pot with coke (coca-cola) and let it sit there for around 5 hours. After that just use a steel wool or scotch brite to scrub away the burnt sugar that’s inside the stainless steel pot. When you finished scrubbing make sure to give the pot a swash with dish soap. Washing it with dish soap will get rid of the burnt sugar and stickiness that was inside the pot.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN THE BOTTOM OF A BURNT POT?

So throughout this article, I’ve talked about cleaning the inside of a burnt pot. But what about the outside. Cleaning the bottom of a burnt pan is actually the same process as cleaning the inside. All you need to do is get a wet steel wool or scotch brite.I prefer to use steel wool because it scrubs things way better. Now squeeze a few drops of dish soap on the steel wool and sprinkle some baking soda on the bottom of the burnt pot. Then scrub the bottom of the burnt pan until it looks brand new again.

I hope this article on how to clean a burnt pot helped you out.

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR DIRTY SOFA

Vacuum

Vacuuming a sofa is pretty simple, but be sure to get underneath the cushions as well ( this part gathers a lot of dust.)

Wipe sofa with Lysol wipes

You should only do this if you have a leather sofa. Also, be sure not to use any harmful chemicals on your sofa. So check the back of your disinfectant wipes before you use them on the sofa.

Wipe sofa with disinfectant

Only do this for leather sofas. Get a clean damp microfiber cloth and pour 1/2 cup of fabuloso disinfectant on it. Now use that to clean the sofa. This will make your sofa clean and smell great.

Spray sofa with Febreze

Simple; just spray the Febreze air freshener on the sofa to make it smell better.

Wash cushions covering

Only some sofas allow you to remove the cushion covering. So if yours does. Just remove them and wash them in the washer. Remember not to use any strong chemicals such as bleach.

DUST OFF EVERY FURNITURE AND ELECTRONICS

This is very simple. Just dust off your tables, tv, etc.

REMOVE ANY CLUTTER THAT’S IN YOUR LIVING ROOM

For this what you need to do is get rid of any garbage you see and put stuff where they belong. Doing these two simple things will make your cluttered living room look really spacious and clean.

FRESHEN UP THE SOFA

You can freshen up your sofa in two ways. One of these ways is to use disinfectant. Get a clean microfiber cloth and damp it with disinfectant. Now use the cloth to wipe your sofa. Only do this for leather sofas.

The other way is to just use an air freshener. While this is a simple and effective method, the other methods work better in my opinion.

VACUUM AND MOP FLOOR

Just vacuum your floors. Then mop it with murphy’s oil soap. I personally like to use a Swiffer wet jet to mop my floors but any clean mop should work.

SPOT CLEAN GLASS SURFACE WITH GLASS CLEANER

Glass can have a lot of ugly spots if you look at them carefully. So if you see any on your glass furniture just do the following. Spray the dirty spot with a glass cleaner and wipe with a microfiber cloth.

FINISH UP WITH FEBREEZE

This is the simplest step. When you are finished doing all of the above just spray your entire living room with febreeze. It might not clean it but it definitely makes it smell a lot better.

Window blinds can be the trickiest part to clean on a window. Most time people just ignore them or take them down. But today I am going to show you some simpler ways to clean them.

Here are some simple ways to clean your window blinds.

USE A CLEAN CLOTH

Get a clean damp cloth and wipe your window blinds with it.

SPRAY WITH MIXTURE

Things you need for the mixture:

  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Spray bottle

Mix them together and spray your window blind. Then use a dry cloth to wipe away the excess moisture.

USE A MINI VACUUM CLEANER

If your window blinds are just a little dusty but not dirty enough for a deep clean. All you have to do is get a mini vacuum to suck up all the dust from the blinds.

USE A DUSTER

This is another simple way to clean your blinds. Just use a small duster to clean away all the built-up dust from the window blinds. Be sure to be gentle when doing this as you don’t want to damage your blinds.

If your oven has reached that point where you open it and immediately close it back… I’ve been there.

Grease baked on, spills from last week (or last month), and that smell that just lingers no matter how much you clean the rest of your kitchen.

In this post, I’m showing you my go-to oven cleaner DIY that I use when I need a real kitchen reset. This is one of those oven cleaning hacks that actually makes a difference—and you don’t need anything fancy to get it done.

I Used to Ignore My Oven… Until It Got Out of Control

I’m going to be honest with you.

There was a time I cleaned everything in my kitchen except the oven.

Countertops? Clean.
Sink? Sparkling.
Floor? Mopped.

But that oven? I acted like it didn’t exist.

Until one day I turned it on and the smell hit me before the heat did.

That’s when I knew… it was time.

Why This DIY Oven Cleaner Works (From Experience)

What I like about this method is how simple it is.

You’re not using anything complicated—just a combination that softens grease and lifts all that baked-on mess so you’re not scrubbing forever.

That’s why this has become one of my favorite kitchen cleaning hacks. It works with what you already have at home, and it fits right into a realistic home cleaning routine.

 What I Use (Nothing Fancy)

Here’s exactly what I use when I clean my oven:

  • Baking soda

  • Water

  • White vinegar

  • A sponge or scrub brush

  • A bowl for mixing

That’s it.

No strong fumes, no expensive products—just a simple DIY oven cleaner that gets the job done.

The Homemade Oven Cleaner:

How I Clean My Oven Step-by-Step

Step 1: Clear Everything Out

I start by removing the racks and brushing out any loose crumbs.

This alone already starts the reset feeling.

Step 2: Make the Paste

I mix baking soda with a little water until it forms a thick paste.

Not too runny—you want it to stick to the surface.

Step 3: Spread It All Over

I spread the paste inside the oven, focusing on:

  • The bottom

  • The sides

  • The oven door

Anywhere I see buildup, it gets covered.

Then I leave it alone and let it sit.

Step 4: Let It Do the Work

This is the part most people rush—but this is where the magic happens.

I let it sit long enough to soften everything that’s been stuck in there.

Step 5: Spray and Wipe

I come back with vinegar in a spray bottle and lightly spray over the paste.

Then I start wiping.

You’ll notice the grime comes off much easier at this point.

Step 6: Go Over Stubborn Spots

If something doesn’t come off right away, I just go back over it.

No pressure, no rushing.

That’s the difference with this oven cleaning hack—you’re working smarter, not harder.

Step 7: Clean the Racks

I usually clean the racks separately with the same mixture or soak them and wipe them down after.

Step 8: Final Wipe Down

I finish with a clean damp cloth to remove any leftover residue.

And just like that… the oven is back.

How I Keep It Clean (So I Don’t Start Over Again)

After doing a full deep clean, I try not to let it get that bad again.

Here’s what I do:

  • Wipe small spills before they bake in

  • Do a quick wipe once a week

  • Save the deep clean for when it actually needs it

It keeps my home cleaning routine simple and manageable.

 What I Don’t Do Anymore

After trial and error, here’s what I avoid:

  • Cleaning while the oven is still hot

  • Using anything too rough that can damage the surface

  • Waiting too long between cleans

Trust me… I’ve learned the hard way.

Why I Stick With This Method

I’ve tried store-bought cleaners before, and while they work, I just don’t like the smell or the effort.

This DIY oven cleaner feels easier, safer, and honestly just more practical for everyday home cleaning.

Final Thoughts: A Clean Oven Changes the Whole Kitchen

There’s something about cleaning your oven that makes your entire kitchen feel different.

It’s not just about removing grease—it’s that full reset feeling.

So if your oven has been sitting there waiting… this is your sign.

Go ahead and take care of it today.

  5. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and buff dry immediately to prevent water spots.

 7. Restore Shine to Brass Heirlooms

Like copper, brass tarnishes due to oxidation. Ketchup is gentle enough to clean brass without the harsh chemical smell of industrial polish.

Original Instructions:

  1. Apply a thin coating of ketchup to the brass item using a soft-bristled toothbrush.
  2. Ensure you get into any ornate crevices or engravings.
  3. Let the “mask” sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Scrub gently with the toothbrush to lift the grime.
  5. Wipe clean with a damp microfiber cloth and dry with a fresh towel.

 8. Remove “Burn Rings” from Cast Iron

If you’ve accidentally overheated a cast iron skillet and left behind stubborn, carbonized food bits or light rust, ketchup can help break the bonds.

Original Instructions:

  1. Cover the affected area of the dry skillet with ketchup.
  2. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes (the acid eats through the rust/carbon).
  3. Use a stiff nylon brush to scrub the area.
  4. Rinse with water and dry the pan on a hot stove burner immediately to remove all moisture.
  5. Note: You will likely need to re-season the pan with a light coat of oil after this treatment.

9. Polishing Silver Jewelry

Silver sulfide (tarnish) turns your favorite rings and necklaces black. A quick ketchup bath can strip that layer away.

Original Instructions:

  1. Fill a small ramekin with just enough ketchup to submerge the jewelry.
  2. Place the silver piece inside for no more than 5–10 minutes (leaving it too long can damage the finish).
  3. Use a soft toothbrush to clean the links or settings.
  4. Rinse under lukewarm running water.
  5. Pat dry with a lint-free cloth.

10. Removing Dried Liquid Glue from Skin

If you’ve been crafting and ended up with dried “school glue” or certain types of craft adhesives on your fingers, the oils and acids in ketchup can help soften the bond.

Original Instructions:

  1. Rub a dollop of ketchup directly onto the dried glue on your skin.
  2. Massage it in for about 60 seconds.
  3. Let it sit for 2 minutes.
  4. Use a washcloth to gently peel and scrub the glue away.
  5. Wash your hands with soap to remove the tomato scent.
