Baking sheets are great for baking stuff but when cleaning them can be a pain. So I’ve gathered up 5 short and simple but also effective ways to clean your baking sheets and make them look brand new.
How to Remove Burnt Food From Baking Sheets: Quick and Easy:

1. Grandma’s Vintage Trick (Baking Soda & Vinegar)
For a more old-fashioned method, sprinkle a generous layer of baking soda over the burnt areas of your baking sheet. Then pour a small amount of vinegar over the soda—the fizzing action will help break down tough, stuck-on food. Let the mixture sit for 15–20 minutes before scrubbing with a Scotch-Brite pad or stiff brush, focusing on the corners and edges. Rinse thoroughly with warm water, and your pan will look refreshed without the need for harsh chemicals.
2. CLEAN IT WITH DISH SOAP AND SCOTCHBRITE
This Is by far the simplest way to clean your baking sheets but it’s definitely one of the most useful ways. All you need to do is scrub the baking sheet with a soapy scotchbrite and tada! You’re all set.
3. WARM WATER SOAKING METHOD:
If you’re dealing with burnt food stuck to your baking sheets, the easiest solution is a simple soak-and-scrub method. Begin by filling the sheet with warm water and adding a few drops of Dawn dish soap. Let it sit for 30 minutes—this allows the heat and soap to break down grease and loosen charred food bits. After soaking, scrub the pan with a Scotchbrite pad, making sure to press into the corners and edges where residue often clings. Once the burnt food lifts away, rinse the sheet thoroughly with warm water and dry it with a clean towel. This quick method not only restores your baking sheets but also helps prevent future buildup.
4. USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE
This may sound weird but it works well. All you need to do is get a sponge and pour some hydrogen peroxide and dish soap on it then scrub the baking sheet.
5. SOAK THE BAKING SHEET IN VINEGAR
All you need to do is pour some vinegar into a baking sheet( about 1/4 inch in height) and let it sit there for about 4 hours.
6. BAKING SODA, VINEGAR, AND SCOTCHBRITE
One of the best ways to scrub away baked-on grease is to use baking soda and vinegar. You need to sprinkle the baking soda all over the baking sheet and then pour about 1/3 cup of vinegar in it as well. Then use the scotch -brite to scrub the baking sheet. This will get rid of all the baked-on grease that was on the baking sheet.
7. USE ALUMINUM FOIL
I know this sounds very weird but hear me out. Just crumble a sheet of aluminum foil then use it as an alternative to clean away baked-on grease.
