Does wd-40 clean foggy headlights?

The answer to this question is yes. Wd-40 is good for cleaning foggy headlights and  It will also save you some money as well. But be sure not use clean your headlights with wd-40 too often as this can cause the oil to leak into the headlight bulb and damage it.

How do you clean headlights with wd-40?

There are three major steps you need to take when you are going to clean your headlights with wd-40. If you are scared that you might mess something up don’t worry because I will show you how to do so correctly. These are the steps:

Step 1– get a bowl or a small bucket of soap and water. Then use a clean microfiber cloth to wash the headlights. When washing the headlights be sure not to get the water under the headlights and other areas just use it to clean the lense.

Step 2– Now spray the wd-40 onto the headlights (remember not to spray it under the headlights).

Final thoughts

So yeah while a can of wd-40 makes a good anti-fog for your car headlights I still don’t recommend it. Now I’m not saying you can’t use it but be extra careful if you are going to and also don’t use it on your headlights too often.

Another thing is that when you clean your car headlights with wd-40 it will only last for a short time. This means that your car headlights will go back foggy a day or two after you have cleaned it with wd-40.

The simple answer to this question is to do it only once every month or every two months. I am only saying this because I’m just a skeptical person. You might find it a bit weird that toothpaste can be used to clean car headlights. Well, it can and it’s actually good at doing so. I will now show you how to clean your headlights with toothpaste but first, you’ll need the following:

Things you need

  • Small bucket of soapy water
  • Cleaning rag
  • Regular white Toothpaste

The first thing you want to do is to dip the rag into the soapy water and use it to wash the headlights. Be sure not to get any liquid under the headlights. After washing the headlights with the rag, rinse the headlights with clean water (use another soft rag to help rinse the headlights). After rinsing the headlights allow them to dry. After allowing them to dry it is now time to use the toothpaste. Get another soft cloth and squeeze 1 drop of toothpaste onto it, then use it to gently rub the car headlights. If the cloth is too dry you can add just a small amount of water to it. Keep cleaning the headlights for around 3-5 mins. Now it’s time to rinse the headlights and allow them to dry.

I would also recommend that you use a car headlight wax like this one “turtle wax” to protect your headlights from future damage.
