A plunger is one if not the filthiest thing in your bathroom and I don’t think I even need to explain why it is. There are many different ways in which you can clean a plunger but today I am going to show you two of the best ones. These plunger cleaning methods are pretty simple so you don’t have to worry about following thousands of different steps.
How to clean a plunger HYGEINICALLY
Step 1
Place the plunger in the toilet bowl. Yes, this is the most hygeinic way to clean it.
Pour 1-2 cups of liquid bleach into the toilet bowl. Making sure it gets onto the plunger as well.
Step 2
Swirl it around for 2-3 minutes and up and down gently as if you want to plunge. Raise it up slight out of the water then flush the toilet. Let the water flow all over it.
Step 3
After the plunger is rinsed. Next, pour a bit of hydrogen peroxide over it and let it dry in the shower.
I normally place it back into the holder if not, I let it air out a little then put it in a clean plastic bag. Yes, make sure to wash the holder by draining it into the toilet and add some bleach. Next, shake gently with warm water and flush. Only then you are allowed to put back your clean plunger into the holder.
2nd method
Step 1
Get a bucket you don’t plan on using for other purposes and fill it halfway up with hot water.
Step 2
Add 1/4 cup of bleach and a few squirts of dawn dish soap and distilled vinegar into it.
Step 3
Now place the plunger into the bucket of water and swirl it around for 2 minutes and let it sit in there for 1 hour. You will need a glove.
Step 4
After one hour take out the plunger and rinse it using clean fresh water and let it dry in the shower or on a sheet of news paper rather.
Conclusion
I know there are a lot of ways to clean a plunger but these two methods are the best in my opinion and most hygienic. The reason why I prefer these methods is that they aren’t unnecessarily long and complicated to follow.
I hope this article showed you how to clean your plunger.
